The MyHouse Expandable Bungalow Design features 10' high ceilings, high awning windows and low single hung windows on the opposite wall, ceiling fans and in-slab radiant heat. This provides effective natural air circulation resulting in comfort in most climates, most of the year.
Because the MyHouse Expandable Bungalow Design specifies in-slab heating it does not specify an air conditioning system by default.
However, in climates where air conditioning is desired, there are ample soffits and dropped ceilings to accommodate
ductwork for a forced air system. Consult with your HVAC contractor and we can coordinate with you to best evaluate where an attic forced air unit and air duct runs can go.
Another option for cooling that allows you to segment your cooling needs from room to room is to utilize wall mounted high efficiency Mitsubishi cooling units.
The CMU block design element in the MyHouse Expandable Bungalow Design offers a convenient flue cavity to accommodate a high efficiency wood burning fireplace. One in the Living / Dining area and one in Bedroom 1.
Once when you cut and stack the wood, once when you load it into your fireplace. By the way, there is ample room to store a nice amount of firewood on the front and back porches. Here is the fireplace we recommend.
